Coffee...I love it in my cup, in my cake, and my skin care. Yes, you did read that correctly. I use coffee grounds on my skin for exfoliation. I don't like to exfoliate my skin too often as I find it to be damaging if you do it more than once a week, that being said, this is my go to weekly exfoliation recipe. The reason it's my favourite is because of the benefits that the ingredients offer.
With only three ingredients, it could not be more simple. Here is what you will need:
Enliven Cleansing Oil: This was specially created to both cleanse and nourish your skin. It won't leave your pores clogged, and it won't strip away your natural oils. Most importantly, it's made out of natural ingredients!
Coffee Grounds: Coffee has some amazing benefits as it' an anti inflammatory as well as an anti oxidant. Caffeine is said to tone and tighten the appearance of your skin which helps make your skin look radiant. There is no reason to throw out those coffee grounds after you make a pot of coffee!
Brown Sugar: I prefer brown sugar because it is much more gentle than white sugar but it still exfoliates.
**An optional ingredient is Vanilla Essential oil. I like to add this mainly for the smell but it also has some lovely benefits such as stress reduction.**
Directions:
Mix coffee grounds, sugar, and Enliven together until you have a paste like consistency. Store in glass jar.
This scrub is for your entire body, just be careful not to get it in your eyes. It also does not taste as good as it smells so I don't like to use this as a lip scrub.
If you are mixing up our DIY Coffee Scrub post your selfie online using #loulabelleDIY so that I can see your beautiful coffee covered faces!
