Today's post is a little bit different. It's not so much about outer beauty but inner beauty. Inner beauty, just like outer beauty can mean many different things depending on your outlook. To me, being beautiful has much more to do with who you are as a person and how you treat others rather than what you look like. Being kind is greater and makes you more beautiful than any mascara you have ever owned.
With this busy world that we live in, stress rears it's ugly head. I know for a fact that when I am stressed out my inner beauty definitely dims. I am a very sensitive person by nature but when I am feeling stressed out I am an extremely sensitive person. I don't know about you, but when I am feeling overly emotional I can dig myself into this little wallow pit and it can be a bit tough to climb back out. That is where gratitude comes in handy.
In my journal, I have a little gratitude section. Whenever I am stressed out and feeling down I make a point to write in all the things I am grateful for, and that is when my inner beauty shines. Acknowledging all the wonderful things in your life, and all the people that make life so wonderful tends to create what I will call a gratitude ripple. When I acknowledge the amazing support system in my life in my journal I then acknowledge the people in that support system. Simple things like saying thank you them. Gratitude, I am pretty sure is magic.
When I am feeling grateful, I am healthier, happier and kinder. I also live slower when I am feeling gratitude. I stop and smell the flowers, rather than worrying about an email I should respond to.
I have a challenge for you belles this weekend. Make a list of 10 things you are grateful for. They can be anything at all. Sometimes my list consists of my husband, family, friends, my animals, coffee, and sunshine. Sometimes it includes fresh laundry, good kale, or a great movie. Whatever it is that you are grateful for, write it down. See how you feel and let me know! I can't wait to see how you are doing, and it would be amazing if you posted a snippet of your gratitude list. I know I will be sharing mine tomorrow! Make sure you use #livelikeabelle on twitter and instagram so I can check out your beautiful snapshots.
