The holidays are upon us and I know it can be stressful for a lot of us out there. To be honest, I don’t usually get too stressed out about holidays. I love spending time with my family, decorating the tree and baking. BUT, it does take a toll on my body. Some of my favourite gifts to both give or receive are the ones that help me recover from the holidays. I’ve put together a list of some of my favourite gift ideas for this holiday season.
1) Pottery Mug
For some, it’s very difficult to add in a self-care routine daily. I know for myself on some of the crazier days all I need to re-set is a good cup of coffee or tea in my favourite mug. I love any mug from Village Pottery
These are legit. I think I have 11 of them in my house. Some for guests but most of them are just for me. I love all of the patterns and all of the masks are handmade with repurposed fabric and filled with felt made from 100% recycled plastic bottles. I wear one of these to bed every night and my sleep is so much better for it! Julia also makes stunning bralettes and scrunchies which are great gifts as well.
3) Journal
If you have been following me for awhile, you know I love a good journal session. I have been journalling since I could write and personally, I don’t think enough people journal. This is such a huge part of my self-care routine because it helps me really get reflective and helps me figure out how I feel about big decisions.
Savannah of Swoon Creations is one of my best friends on the planet, so I may be a little biased but I love her jewellery so much. It makes for such a nice gifts and a lot of her pieces are made with gemstones that promote healing and love.
5) Magnesium Spray
I started using Magnesium Spray in February to help with inflammation, sleep and anxiety. I use the spray before bed on the bottoms of my feet, inner thighs and stomach. Turns out, most people are deficient in magnesium.
6) The coziest of hoodies
Not only is this sweater 100% Canadian made, it also brings oh so much nostalgia. This is on my list for sure!
7) Sauna Certificate
Give the gift of relaxation. Going to the Infrared Sauna is one of my absolute favourite things to do when I am feeling run down or sick. It’s great for inflammation, anxiety, and as a bonus, your skin!
8) A Donation
In their name. It feels so good to donate to a worthy cause and anytime someone has done this for me as a gift in my name it means so much. Spread that goodness around.
9) Body Brush
Dry brushing helps improve circulation, release toxins, shed dead skin cells, rejuvenate the nervous system and eliminates clogged pores. This is a great practice to start and is something nice to gift to encourage others to up their self-care game.
10) Pampering Products
Obviously I am going to tell you that gifting some Lou La Belle is a good idea because basically every friend and family member gets a scrub or this year the Nourished mask! The mask is a great gift to break out for girls night!
